Angel's (Halo's mom's) seemingly mild gas colic turned into a very bad colic last night. She seemed slightly more uncomfortable around 10:00 pm. She wasn't thrashing, but she was pacing in her stall and tried to lay down once. We gave her banamine and walked her. By 11:00, the vet was on her way. Hello everyone! Thanks again for all the kind wishes for Halo. We stayed with him for several hours on Sunday and visited him for several more hours on Monday. I saw this on my Facebook news feed this morning, and wanted to get the word out to as many people as possible. Gentle Spirit Horse Rescue in Iowa has 45 Morgans that are in need of homes. It seems that the farm where the Morgans were being held is closing down, NOT the rescue as I'd originally thought. I'm not sure how many other horses need homes ( Read more... )

I've found myself with some extra time on my hands, and I was thinking about volunteering at a local horse rescue.
